Information on the March 25 Standardized Testing Day

Posted Date: 03/04/26 (04:00 PM)

March 4, 2026

Good afternoon students and families,

This year we will administer our spring testing on Wednesday, March 25th.  Below is information about the day and specifics for each grade level.

Schedule

Wednesday, March 25th is an early dismissal day for students.   Students will not be participating in classes after the testing and buses will run at the regular 12:35 dismissal time. Please keep in mind that while most testing sessions will end between 12:10 and 12:20, students will not be dismissed until 12:35 so that all students can test in a quiet setting.

Seniors

Seniors will not participate in testing and will be excused from school on March 25th. During this time, they are expected to focus on preparing for their senior experience and AP exams as well as making decisions about their post-graduation plans.

Juniors

The CT SAT School Day will be administered digitally again this year. Students will take the test using their own devices and the College Board’s testing application, Bluebook, as they did with the PSAT in the fall.  School Chromebooks will be available for those students whose devices cannot run Bluebook. Students will be emailed their room assignment a few days prior to the test.  On test day, they should bring their fully charged computer (unless they’re using a school Chromebook), a photo ID (school ID is fine), a calculator, pens or pencils, and snacks/water.

Participation in the SAT School Day is a Connecticut state graduation requirement. The test is also a Wilton High School performance graduation requirement. Beginning with the 2023 graduating class, students must satisfy this requirement by meeting specific benchmarks on the school-day administration of the test. For more information on this graduation requirement, please view the 2026-2027 Program of Studies beginning on page 11.

SAT scores are used by the Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) for school and district accountability purposes. The CSDE adheres to all federal and state data privacy laws and does not release student data to third parties, including colleges or universities.

Parents and students have control over the release of the scores to colleges and universities from the Connecticut SAT School Day. If students and parents want a Connecticut SAT School Day score to be sent to colleges or universities, they must explicitly request a “score send” from the College Board.

          1. For the Connecticut SAT School Day exam, students will have the option to send their scores to up to four colleges or universities for free. During the pre-administration session that morning, before the test begins, students can select up to four schools to automatically receive their scores.

This step is optional. If you decide to participate, please note that the scores will be automatically sent to the schools you select.

          2. Students and parents can completely remove the score from the Connecticut SAT School Day from the student’s College Board record of SAT scores. After submitting a request to cancel scores, scores cannot be reinstated or reported to you or any college.

To request a cancellation of your SAT School Day scores, the student should email Stephen Sobolewski, the testing coordinator, who will put in the cancellation request. The deadline to completely remove scores is the fourth weekday after testing ends.

SAT scores from the Connecticut SAT School Day will still be used by the CSDE for school and district accountability purposes.

Sophomores

The PSAT 10 assessment provides meaningful data regarding student progress and helps inform instruction and programming.  In addition, we will continue to use student performance data from the PSAT as one measure to inform our Reading and Math intervention process. Furthermore, since the PSAT is also administered digitally, these assessments will provide students with valuable experience navigating standardized tests in this format.

Students will test on their own devices using the College Board’s testing application, Bluebook, as they did this past fall.  School Chromebooks will be available for students whose devices cannot run Bluebook.  Students will be emailed their room assignment a few days prior to the test.  On test day, they should bring their fully charged computer (unless they’re using a school Chromebook), a calculator, pens or pencils, and snacks/water.

Freshmen

Just like in the fall, all ninth grade students will be assigned to a testing room.  Students will receive an email from Mr. Marko on Monday, March 23rd and another on the morning of the testing.  These emails will include their room assignment and instructions for the testing.  On this date, students will be taking the MAP reading and science tests, which are untimed.  They will be provided as much time as they need to finish, but will be given a two hour block on the 25th.  Any student requiring more time will complete their test during an upcoming study hall.

All students should arrive at school on time as the testing session will begin promptly at 8:20. Students who arrive late may not be able to enter a testing room that has already started.

Thank you,

Joshua Marko
